Farmer’s Name: Mamo Gutu

My name is Mamo Gutu, a member of the Konga Co-operative union in Yirgacheffe. Before I joined the cooperative, I used to sell my coffee to private buyers, who used to give me low prices for my coffee. I would sell at 15 Birr per 100 Kilos, but as soon as I joined the Union, I started getting between 250 to 300 Birr per 100 Kilos. This helped improve my life dramatically and was able to build a modern house from the local one I had.
